Your Tasks

  • Lead quality activities for metal parts during the design and launch phases
  • Conduct comprehensive audits and drive continuous improvement at supplier sites
  • Resolve critical and chronic quality issues using rigorous root-cause analysis methodologies
  • Act as the quality expert for metal-related issues impacting our customers and service centers

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years in a Supplier Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality Engineering role, with a specific focus on metal fabrication and assembly
  • Experience in home appliances, automotive, aerospace, or other high-volume consumer durable goods is highly preferred
  • Technical Competencies - Metal Components Expertise
  • Stamping & Fine Blanking: Knowledge of tooling (die & mold), press tonnage, material grain direction, and burr control
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication: Laser cutting, bending, punching, and roll forming
  • Welding: Proficiency in evaluating Resistance Spot Welding (RSW), MIG/TIG, and laser welding. Understanding of weld nugget quality, destructive testing, and non-destructive evaluation
  • Metal Finishing: Expertise in pre-treatment (phosphating, chromating) and coating processes (powder coating, e-coating). Must understand coating thickness, adhesion, corrosion resistance (salt spray testing), and appearance standards
